Scheduled Property
Scheduling property — jewelry, art, cameras, tools — allows businesses to specify exact values and ensure full coverage for valuable items that would otherwise be subject to restrictive sublimits.

Definition
Scheduled property endorsements list specific high-value items on an insurance policy with individually agreed-upon valuations, providing coverage up to those stated values rather than the standard sublimits that apply to similar items under the main policy. Homeowners policies typically have sublimits on jewelry ($1,500–$2,500), artwork, silverware, and other valuables; scheduling items removes these sublimits and provides full coverage up to the scheduled value. Businesses schedule tools, equipment, cameras, and electronics for the same reason. Insurers require appraisals for scheduled items to establish their agreed value, preventing post-loss disputes over value. The insured then pays an endorsement premium (typically $10–$50 per item depending on value) for the scheduled property coverage. If a scheduled item is lost or damaged, the insurer pays the full scheduled value rather than calculating depreciation (actual cash value). For items that are expensive, irreplaceable, or increase in value — such as art, jewelry, or antiques — scheduling is essential. Regularly updating scheduled property after adding valuable items or as values change is important; forgotten items revert to standard sublimits.
